The AWP Local Leaders Initiative
Do you think Australia can do better? Do you have a real hunger for change? Do you see the need for social and economic justice? Do you wish to see greater integrity and accountability in politics? Do you recognise and respect the rights of every worker in our nation? Have you the potential and the desire to lead in your local community?
If the answer is ‘yes’ then the Australian Workers Party needs you.
The AWP Executive would like to invite you to submit an Expression of Interest for participation in the AWP Local Leaders Initiative. Throughout 2018 we will be offering a select number of our members an opportunity to participate in this exciting program. You will be given the support and skills to grow your own talents and to grow the AWP in your local community and be part of the growth of a new political movement in our country.
We are seeking people who are natural leaders, even though you may not feel you fit into that category. You may be a workplace union delegate, a local sportsperson, a small business owner, a community service activist or a local volunteer. You may be a member of your local Rotary Club or you might be a passionate environmentalist. You may be a worker or seeking work or you may be retired. Or you may simply be a person who has been inspired by the emergence of AWP to become politically active. You need not come from a political background but you must show the resilience, the hunger for change and sound community mindedness that is required in any grassroots political organising.
The AWP Local Leaders Initiative will offer you support and mentoring plus you will be given the tools to be an active campaigner in your local community: you will be taught skills in grassroots activism, recruitment, communication and organising.
The AWP Local Leaders Initiative will give you the skills and confidence to be a strong voice for change in your local community. The only contribution you will be required to make will be your time and your commitment to help make a real change in Australian politics.
There is only one way we can make a fairer and better Australia and that is by working together. Here is your opportunity to be part of the growth of the Australian Workers Party.
